United States Judge has sentenced Mexican drug baron, Kingpin Joaquin popularly known as El Chapo to life in prison plus 30years.
El Chapo was found guilty of 10 charges including drug trafficking and money laundering by a federal Court in New York in February. Guzman, El Chapo escaped Mexican jail through a tunnel in 2015 but was later arrested and was later extradited to the United States of America in 2017. He has been accused of helping to bring hundreds of tonnes of cocaine into America and compromising to make and distribute heroin marijuana and methamphetamine.
Court papers accused him of having young ladies as young as 13years of age being drugged before raping them. El Chapo called young girls his victims because he believed that sexual activity with young girls gave him life, a Colombian drug trafficker Alex Cifuentes a former associate to El Chapo said. The life sentence was the minimum El Chapo has faced. The additional 30years were served him for unlawful uses of firearms. He has also been ordered to pay $12.6billion in forfeiture.
Security officials revealed that El Chapo would be his sentence behind tonnes of steel, referring to a high security prison in Colorado.

Speaking through an interpreter before his sentence on Wednesday, 17th of July, Guzman said in the Brooklyn Courtroom his confinement in United States had amounted to emotional mental and psychological torture 24hours a day. He also noted that he had received an unfair trial.
