Infrastructural development and security of lives is the top priority of every sensible leader of any society across the world. But when these are lacking it means that the leaders has failed those who trusted their credibility by voting them into power.

However, that is different with the Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, also known as “AKETI”, whose indelible mark has changed the narrative of the administrative power in Ondo. He came with a vision to restructure the state for the wellbeing of all irrespective of social strata, through job creation, massive development, provision of functional education, provision of social service delivery, rural development and off course, infrastructural development.

Due to the high level of development that good road network attracts to the society, Akeredolu did not relent in making his vision of delivering good road network across the 18 local governments of the state a reality. It might interest you to know that within the space of three years in office, the Ondo state Governor has succeeded in construction of over 239.34Km of roads across different senatorial districts in Ondo state with many roads flagged off to be reconstructed before the end of year 2020.
Also, being aware of the increasing rate of accident which results to loss of lives and properties on Benin-Ore express road, proposed the construction of 60 meters’ flyover with culverts and drainage system at Ore with a budget of N5Billion in late 2018 with the promise that the bridge would be ready in 2019.

Without looking back, work began in 2019 and now the bridge is ready to be commissioned in February 25, 2020. This has shown that Akeredolu is a man of his words and integrity. Little wonder why the Ondo state citizenry accord him as “Mr. Talk and Do Governor”.

It is not novel in Africa, especially Nigeria how dubious and selfish governments embezzle public funds all in the name of erecting capital project for the public. It is crystal obvious that many political leaders in Nigeria embezzles public fund through projects like this. Many even go as long as flagging off the project after making a huge budget without completing the project.

But here is a man, unlike his counterparts in the public offices, would have looked away, with the claim that the road is a federal government road and allow loss of lives and property to continue on that road, but that is not the person of Akeredolu. He deemed it right to decongest the road, while reducing the rate of road accident for the road users and as well attract development at that region of the state.
Irrespective of this first of its kind Ore bridge in Ondo state and the huge amount it has gulped, off course Governor Akeredolu is a man of quality so we would not expect otherwise. He has not neglected any sector, as attention is given to all sectors and results are there to show forth.

To mark his third year anniversary in office, Governor Akeredolu, has over 10 capital project to commission this month February 2020, ranging from road projects to infrastructural development which include; the dualized 7.236km roads from Emure-AUD to ministry of works to Iyere junction Owo. 6.5km Iyere/Ipele Road Owo. Township roads aroud Chicken Republic Owo, newly constructed 3 storey office blocks RUGIPO, Owo, VIO computerized centre Owo, Hall for Electronic testing RUGIPO, Owo, newly constructed faculty of Agricultural Technology Building RUGIPO, Owo, the dualized CBN to Bishop’ court road Akure, the newly constructed SIIB/High Court road Alagbaka, the newly constructed Court of Appeal to SUBEB road Akure and the first of its kind, Ore flyover, Benin expressway.

Also with additional, not less than 9 projects ranging from roads to building of 5 Maternal and Child hospitals across the 3 senatorial districts to be flagged off and completed before the end of 2020.
It is a great privilege for the people of Ondo to have such a leader as Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, whose interest is to see that everybody wins through enjoying the benefits of the dividend of democracy. Especially now that so many leaders do not care about moral values and the legacy they would be remembered for in time to come.
