Nigeria is in a very sad state since the beginning of the protest made by Nigerian youths demanding for a complete or total disbandment of the police force and reform of the entire Police force plus demanding for better governance.

The issue at hand grew worst when an incident that is considered to be a genocide or massacre took place on Tuesday 20th October 2020, where the Nigerian military were sent to the ground (Lekki toll gate) where innocent, peaceful and unarmed Nigerian youths were protesting and opened fire at them killing several of them.

Nigerians have however taken to the social media since then to express their anger, bitterness, frustration and displeasure towards the unfortunate incident.

Indeed many Nigerians have not been sleeping because of the trauma that comes with the gory images and video clips that has been circulating on social media.

Two celebrities Davido and Naira Marley have also taken to their Twitter handle to expressed themselves on how they couldn’t sleep last night. This however got their followers to respond in different ways. Check out their tweets below and the responses following each:

It’s rather unfortunate that Nigerians are seeing with their eyes how our beloved nation is going down the drain with many facilities that may never be recovered set ablaze and many young people who are believed to be the “leaders of tomorrow” being killed by the same people who are meant to protect them. Sad indeed.

Naira Marley

“No sleeping right now because my country is bleeding right now, oh my God we need your help right now”.

Indeed it’s a sad time for Nigerians as both those in the political class, the masses and the celebrities are weeping.

Please I think this calls for us to intensify prayer and we decree and declare that peace be restored to our nation in Jesus name.

Please drop a prayer for our nation below and share this post with someone hoping that God Almighty will bring to an end this bloodshed.
