Emotion rise on high, as families of the victim of the Ikoyi building collapse rush to Yaba mainland hospital moturary to identify the corpse of their loved ones.
Just as the families of Dr Femi Osibon were also fighting, on the late managing director of fourscore homes barely 24hours after his body was recovered.
Punch metro correspondence who visited the mortuary said there was mixture of emotion as sadness, anger, grief filled the families as they entered the premises of the moturary.
The building which collapsed on the 1st of November harbouring about 100 person in it, including the Managing Director Osibon, his friend Bob Oseni and his P.A Onyinye.
Nine persons were rescued alive and 42 dead bodies have been recovered. Three of the survivors has been discharged while six are still receiving treatment. Their names are Odutan Timileyin is a 26-year-old man.Ahmed Kenleku: A 19-year-old man from Cotonou, the Benin Republic.Sunday Monday: The 21-year-old had a leg fracture.
Adeniran Mayowa: This survivor, the governor noted, suffered a hip injury.
Shola Bade Nurudeen: He is 33 and had a pelvic injury.Waliu Lateef is 32-year-old.
Two large canopy was provided for the family members of the victim and they were called in one after the other to recognize the corpse of their family member. The attendant announced thus “The most recent picture of the missing person and a photocopy of the identity card of his/her blood relation are required”.
Meanwhile violence has been brewing in the household of late Osibon as his brothers and wife are fighting over ownership of his property.
It was said the wife who flew in from the United States of America due to the Death of her late husband was denied access into the developer residence by his siblings.
The wife and sibling was said to have arrived with mobile police officers in other to claim ownership of the luxurious vehicles in the premises of the late Osibon. The neighbors was said to have chased them away to prevent been caught up in their drama.
Giving an update on the tragedy, the governor said as at 6pm on Saturday, 42 bodies has been recovered.
Provision has also been made for the burial of the deceased by government and also for the victims who are still in the hospital.
Six additional people has also been rescued alive and taken to a different hospital making a total of 15 survivors.
The All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, also visited the scene of the incident on Saturday in company with Sanwo-Olu.
