NAPPS chairman and wife freed, after paying 12m as ransom.

Kidnapped chairman of National Association of Propietor of Private School Delta State chapter, Monday Ifoghere, and his wife have been freed after spending seven days in custody of Kidnappers.

The duo was reportedly released about 5 a.m. around the Eku axis in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State on Sunday.

It was gathered that days, after the couples have been kidnapped, the kidnappers demanded 200 million as Ransom at first, then reduced it to 100 million before accepting 12 million which was allegedly paid by the family, with contributions from associates and well-wishers.

Deacon Ifoghere and his wife were abducted on Sunday, December 12, 2021, around the Okro market at Egbo, Kokori in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State while returning from a family event to Ughelli.

The punch correspondent gathered that the victims have since been hospitalised and receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The National vice president of the association, Dr. Ochuko Akpeme while confirming the release said, “my joy has no boundary. Their release is divine. It is God that made it possible”, he stated while thanking members of NAPPS all over Delta State for their solidarity.
