New Eagles Coach to resume at AFCON says NFF President

The new Super Eagles manager to be hired by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) would most likely supervise the national team at next month’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) if the two parties reach an agreement.

This statement was made by the NFF President Amaju Pinnick during a parley organised by the Guild of Sports Editors in Lagos yesterday.

“I can’t be categorical about who would be the new Super Eagles manager,” Pinnick said. “Of course, we have spoken to three top coaches and it included some of those names already being speculated.

“We’ve discussed with Jose Peresiro, Jose Morais and Mladen Krstajić who has gone to Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv but we have our internal due process as far as head hunting a coach for the Super Eagles and we are working in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development” Pinnick explained.
