Guinea Bissau vs Nigeria: Eguaveon starts new players, rests Okoye, Awoniyi, others.

Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguaveon changed the starting XI of Nigeria in their last Group D match against Guinea Bissau.

This is as he rested some players – goalkeeper Maduka Okoye; defender Kenneth Omeruo; winger Moses Simon and striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

Among the new players introduced in the starting line-up are Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Nwakali, Jamilu Collins, Francis Uzoho, Semi Ajayi, and Tyronne Ebuehi.

Iwobi and Ebuehi replaced Samuel Chukwueze and Ola Aina in the starting line-up for the game against the Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau.

However, key stars like assistant captain William Troost-Ekong, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, and striker Kelechi Iheanacho are expected to keep their places in the starting XI.

In the absence of Ahmed Musa, Troost-Ekong leads the Eagles out in their 96th match in the history of the competition.

The three-time African champions have recorded 52 wins drawn 22 and lost 21.
