The Niger State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, has announced that the party has submitted the names of Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago and Comrade Yakubu Garba as governorship and deputy candidates for the forthcoming general elections in 2023, to the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
The party made the disclosure in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Musa D. Sarkindaji in Minna.
Hon. Jikantoro explained that the decision was reached by the party after wide consultations with relevant stakeholders in the state.
“The party made wider consultations with the critical stakeholders to have arrived at bringing in the State Chairman of National Labour Congress (NLC) Yakubu Garba, as the deputy.
“The decision is in line with the track records of Comrade Yakubu Garba within the confines of state civil service.”
He also described the decision as, “good thinking, good combination and good products to the state.”
He then called on Nigerlites to accord the party and candidates maximum acceptability to move Niger State to greater heights.
