Abia varsity lecturers are suffering – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Abia State University, Uturu branch, has pleaded with the state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and stakeholders in the state to come to their rescue over ten months of unpaid salaries.

In a press statement made available to The Newsmen, its Chairperson, Comrade Victor Nkemdirim, the union urged the government to intervene and pay the said salaries.

According to him, our members are deeply pained because of the sorry state we have found ourselves in.

“All we are asking for is the prompt and regular release of the subvention to the university as it is in the appropriation law of the state. At this point, we call on our colleague, His Excellency, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu PhD to listen to the cries from his constituency.
