In advance of the 2019 election in Ogun State, Adekunle Akinlade, the Allied People’s Movement’s (APM) gubernatorial candidate, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) deputy governorship candidate.
After joining the PDP on Friday, Akinlade was named as Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s running partner. Adebutu won the PDP primary election in Ogun State.
Akinlade said that joining the PDP was done for Ogun State’s benefit while agreeing to run on the same ticket as Adebutu.
“Although it may not be the most popular course of action, I think it is absolutely important. Every sane Ogun State resident must be willing to make sacrifices given the situation we are in today, according to Akinlade.
The former member of the House of Representatives recounted how Adebutu supported him during his 2019 run, stating, “We will do all we can to ensure that this party wins in 2023.”
