Rauf Aregbesola support group vows to vote APC at Osun governorship poll

The leadership of The Osun Progressives, a tendency in the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, supported by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said its members would vote for the APC on Saturday, at the governorship poll.

Speaking to Newsmen on Wednesday, the chairman of the group, Mr. Lowo Adebiyi,, said the group would be awaiting a favourable outcome from a matter instituted against the emergence of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the February governorship primary of the party.

After Oyetola was declared winner of the primary, Adeoti however, headed for Abuja Federal High Court, challenging the Osun governor’s eligibility to contest the primary, while still serving in the National Caretaker Committee of the APC.

But during an interview with our correspondent, Adebiyi expressed hope that Adeoti would win in court on Thursday, adding that if the contrary happens, members of the party would still vote APC.

He said, “We have a court judgment coming up tomorrow (Thursday) by the grace of God and we are going to win that case for Alhaji Moshood Adeoti to represent the APC (at the governorship poll). We are going to vote for the APC on Saturday. We are in the party.”

Asked if the group has been canvassing for votes, Adebiyi said, “we are doing our best but we are not mobilised. The governor’s side refuses to mobilise us, but we have told our people to vote for the APC.
